    Colorado Technology Association Hosts 2017 Legislative Reception

    Colorado Technology Association recently held its 2017 Legislative Reception at the Denver Art Museum to celebrate Colorado’s state elected officials and to thank them for their work impacting the tech community. CTA strives to be a resource for our state legislators and focuses on making Colorado the most tech educated state in the nation, a global leader in tech and advocates for modern policy that keeps pace.

    As part of the reception, CTA featured a hands-on learning experience for legislators showcasing some of the latest tech trends in the state. Participating companies and organizations included BitsBox, Galvanize, MSC, Rachio, St. Vrain Innovation Center and the Denver Art Museum.

    CTA President and CEO, Andrea Young, gave remarks thanking legislators for their efforts during the 2016 legislative session and their work currently underway during the 2017 session. Co-Chairs of CTA’s Policy Council, JB Holston and Roberta Robinette spoke as well highlighting the ability of CTA to bring the tech industry into policy discussions and the need to modernize laws as technology evolves, but in ways that encourage innovation. State Rep. Dan Pabon also gave comments on the importance that tech plays in our evolving world, and the need for informed policy making when it comes to these complicated issues. Rep. Pabon gave an additional announcement that the Legislative Tech Caucus that will be reforming and meeting soon to discuss tech-related issues in Colorado and what state lawmakers can do to help spur innovation and growth.

    CTA was excited to host state legislators and others influencing policy making in our state and thanks them for their continued work. We will maintain our efforts to advance the tech industry in Colorado and give a voice to the tech community.
