1. Colorado to spend millions building electric-vehicle charging stations

    After more than a year of work, Colorado air pollution officials last week finalized a plan to spend $68.7 million to cut car and truck pollution in the state by investing in electric and alternative-fuel vehicles. 

    The money is Colorado’s share of Volkswagen’s $2.7 billion settlement with the U.S. government over allegations the company installed software in its diesel-powered vehicles that enabled the vehicles to cheat on pollution tests — artificially lowering the results.
