Webroot jumps into 'internet of things' protection

Webroot Inc. is branching out to help companies protect internet-connected machines and devices from hackers after years building its reputation with consumer desktop computers and mobile phones.

The Broomfield-based cybersecurity company is unveiling its BrightCloud Threat Intelligence service, which is meant to work with companies’ “internet of things” gateway devices, which serve as central hubs for communications between devices, a central command computer and the internet.
