      Fort Collins cracks top 10 in Best-Performing Cities ranking

       Fort Collins was named the country’s ninth best-performing city in terms of economic expansion and job creation by the Milken Institute. The nonprofit think tank’s annual Best-Performing Cities report evaluates and ranks cities and metropolitan areas using metrics such as job creation, wage gains, and technological developments. This is the second year in a row that Fort Collins was ranked in the top 10. The city was the fifth best-performing city in last year’s report.

      United launches new non-stop flights between DIA, European hub

      Starting in May 2019, United Airlines, Inc. will have a new non-stop route between Denver International Airport and Frankfurt, Germany, according to a airline news release. United’s new service between Denver and Frankfurt is the only nonstop service from Denver to Germany by a U.S. carrier and is the airline’s ninth flight between the United States and Frankfurt, the release said.

      Northern Colorado Economic Alliance chief to step down

      Northern Colorado Economic Alliance CEO Andy Montgomery plans to leave his position at the end of the year. Montgomery joined the Loveland-based economic development agency as its first chief executive in 2016. He is stepping down to pursue a yet-to-be announced new business venture, he said. The alliance’s board is close to identifying a successor, he said. Montgomery said he will stay in his position beyond the end of the year if his replacement is not yet in place.
