      Peak 10 + ViaWest changes its name following merger

      The ViaWest brand name will begin to disappear in coming months as the data center and IT company, called Peak 10 + ViaWest, rebrands itself following last year’s merger.

      The Charlotte-based company changed its name to Flexential Inc. on Thursday.

      The $1.7 billion purchase of Denver-based ViaWest by Peak 10 last summer created a national company with 40 data centers in 21 U.S. metropolitan areas.

      Apple Inc. is hiring experienced software engineers to work on network, big data and mapping technologies in Denver, joining the stream of big tech firms adding local offices. Since Sept. 12, the Cupertino, California-based tech giant has posted three software engineering jobs openings for a location in Denver. The openings come after spring rumors Apple could lease significant space in downtown for a technology development office.

      Colorado's HomeAdvisor and Angie's List combine into new public company

      HomeAdvisor Inc.’s acquisition of rival Angie’s List has closed, and shares of the combined company -- connecting homeowners with remodeling contractors -- are trading publicly for the first time Monday morning.

      Shareholders of Angie’s List approved the transaction Friday and this week marks the start of a new public company, called Angi Homeservices Inc. (Nasdaq: ANGI).
