      Comcast buys home security tech company

      Comcast Corp. — Colorado's largest cable provider — said that it agreed to acquire Austin, Texas-based Icontrol Networks, a company that creates technology and platforms for home security systems.

      Financial terms were not disclosed.

      In a note announcing the transaction, Dan Herscovici, Comcast’s senior vice president and general manager of Xfinity Home, said Icontrol has been an “important technology partner” for Comcast since the launch of the Xfinity Home security system in 2010.
