      New Belgium taps Christine Perich as CEO

      New Belgium Brewing didn't have to seek far and wide to find its new chief executive officer, tapping current chief operating officer and president Christine Perich to succeed founding CEO Kim Jordan, who is moving over to chair the brewery's board of directors. The move is significant for Colorado's largest craft brewer. New Belgium currently is the nation's fourth largest craft brewery and eighth largest overall brewery.

      APEX Awards nomination deadline is this Friday

      DENVER -- The deadline to submit nominations for Colorado Technology Association’s annual APEX Awards is this Friday, Aug. 7. The awards honor the state’s technology leaders and innovators. Nominations are open for: CTA said nominations that can’t make the Aug. 7 deadline can purchase an extra week for $75 and have until Aug. 14 for submission. This year’s awards will be held at the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel on Nov. 5. Tables and sponsorship opportunities are still available, CTA said.

      Colorado’s Equity Crowdfunding Law Is Set to Go Live August 5th

      Just four months after Colorado announced its equity crowdfunding law, the Centennial State’s government officials announced that its residents will be able to participate in equity funding projects starting this upcoming Wednesday. Governor John Hickenlooper signed the Colorado Crowdfunding Act into law back in April, which will allow the state’s residents to be able to stock in local companies without becoming an accredited investor.

      BOULDER – New York-based software firm CA Technologies ( ) announced Wednesday afternoon that it has inked a deal to acquire Boulder-based Rally Software Development Corp. for $480 million. The price works to about $19.50 per share for Rally ( ), a 44 percent premium on Wednesday’s closing price. Shares closed at $13.51 Wednesday but shot up to $19.22 per share in after-hours trading in the wake of CA’s announcement. CA shares remained flat.
