      Ampt Finds $25M For Solar Power Technology

      Fort Collins-based solar power technology developer Ampt said this morning that it has raised $25M in funding, split between a $20M, Series C funding round, and $5M in working capital. The startup said the funding was led by Bohemian Investments, and also included Doug Schatz. Ampt develops a product which optimizes the power coming out of photovoltaic panels, via DC-to-DC conversion.

      Boulder-based startup accelerator operator Techstars has opened up applications for its 2016 Techstars Cloud program, the accelerator it is running in San Antonio, Texas, for cloud-based businesses. Techstars said the latest program will run from November 2nd through February 11th, 2016, when it will hold a Demo Day for its class. Rosenberg was previously President and CEO of Boulder-based OPX Biotechnologies, and also has served at Evergreen Energy and Ballard Power Systems. Novida is developing non-carbon mercury emission control products for poer plants, which reduces the emissions of mercury from coal burning power plants, industrial boilers and cement kilns.

The accelerator class runs through September 9th. The companies in this new class include adHawk (digital marketing); Blazing DB (SQL database); Borrowing Magnolia (marketplace to rent and resell wedding dresses); Edify (music education); Flytedesk (marketplace for ad space in college newspapers); HobbyDB (database for collectors); Madkudu (sales and support tools); Revolar (personal safety device); Stryd (power meter for runners); and Trelora (commission free real estate).
